Chris Cunningham Park Upgrade

In conjunction with Tweed Shire Council, the Sub Branch has completed the first stage of enhancing the memorabilia in Chris Cunningham Park.

Two engraved park benches have been installed near the Children's Statue, some palm trees have been removed (officially these are weeds), and replaced with some lower bushes which will make a nice backdrop to the benches.

The funding for the benches came from a bequest from Jimmy Thomson (Royal Navy) - recently deceased, and a separate government grant.

In due course it is planned to install a further four benches around the park.

There are also plans to completely refurbish all the plaques near the fountain - this should be done later this year.

For now, please enjoy the park benches (if it isn't raining)

Memorabilia Request

Our Sub Branch has used a commemorative grant to purchase two illuminated memorabilia display cases for the ANZAC Room.

While we have some memorabilia in our library, we are hoping to expand our collection with suitable items relating to our Sub Branch and our Members.

If you have or know of any suitable military memorabilia that could be donated or loaned to this collection, please contact our office.
